Training Class
The Vernon Parish School Board will conduct a 30-hour pre-service training class for prospective bus drivers from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 1-5 at Leesville High School in the lower cafeteria. Please call 337-239-1627 by Thursday, May 28 to register.

Vacation Bible School

A.A.R.P. Drivers Safety Course
A.A.R.P. Chapter # 1199 is sponsoring a “ 55 Alive Drivers Safety Course “ Friday, June 5 at 8 a.m. untill 12:30 p.m. at the Vernon Parish Library. There will be a fee of $12. for members. Be sure to bring your A.A.R.P. cards. For nonmembers the fee will be $14. Be sure to register with June McClain at 337-239-6529. Most insurance companies will give a premium discount for completion of the course.

Golf Tournament
The National Association of University Women will hold its Annual Golf Tournament June 6, 2009 at 8 a.m. It will be a two-person scramble with a shotgun start at the Leesville Municipal Golf Course. Annual Meeting
The Gravel Hill Cemetary Association will hold its annual meeting June 6, 2009 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens. Everyone is invited, beginning at 10 a.m. with singing, business meeting, preaching, fellowship and dinner on the grounds. The Rev Jeff James will be bringing the message.

Choir Anniversary
The Sweet Home Baptist Church will celebrate its Annual Choir Anniversary, Sunday, June 7 at 3 p.m. Guests for the occasion will be the Rev. Clenon Turner and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Leesville. The public is invited to attend.
Fullerton Reunion
The Fullerton Reunion is set for Sunday, June 7 at the old town site in Fullerton. Bring a picnic lunch, memories, old photographs and questions to Fullerton Park. All are welcome. The Forest Service, in planning new trails and exhibits, wishes to scan old photographs during the reunion so that they can illustrate the life and time of this community.
