The Pickering Lady Red Devils wasted little time cranking up its offense.
Pickering (2-0) scored 43 first-half points en route to a 64-22 victory over the Evans Lady Eagles on Thursday at the Rosepine Tournament.
The Lady Red Devils used a 30-2 run to get things started, with both Kourtney Norris and Katherine Brinkley scoring 10 points each in the first period.
With a 13-4 advantage in the second period, the Lady Red Devils went into the halftime intermission with a 43-6 cushion.
After holding Evans (0-8) scoreless in the third quarter, the Lady Red Devils owned a 59-6 lead going into the final eight minutes of play, where Pickering head coach Vickie Sketoe emptied her bench.
Evans' freshman Allie Poirier drained four three-pointers in the fourth quarter, allowing the Lady Eagles to outscore Pickering, 16-5, in the frame. However, it wasn't enough as the Lady Devils got the win.
Norris and Brinkley each scored 14 points in the game, while Aaliyah Sheppard chipped in with eight points.
Poirier finished with 12 points to lead the Lady Eagles, while Brandi Davis added six points.

The DeRidder Lady Dragons opened with a 19-3 run and never looked back as they improved to 2-0 on the season with a 60-38 victory over the Rosepine Lady Eagles on Thursday at the annual Rosepine Tournament.
The Lady Dragons used their size to their advantage during the opening run, leading by as much as 16 points in the first quarter before Hannah Welborn scored six straight for the Lady Eagles (1-1) to cut the deficit to 11 at the end of the first period, 20-9.
The Lady Eagles managed to keep within striking distance during the first portion of the second period, getting to within eight thanks to a 6-3 run, trailing just, 23-15.
However, DeRidder started using its post game to its advantage again, finishing off the first half on an 11-6 surge, going into the halftime break with a 34-20 cushion.
The Lady Dragons slowly pulled away in the second half en route to winning its second straight game.
Sydney Gibson led DeRidder with 13 points, while Krystal Sowells contributed 10 points.
Tiffany Jackson, Ashley Shell and Rayna Childs each added nine points in the win for DeRidder, which plays Pitkin at 7 p.m. today and Pickering at 1 p.m. Saturday in the tournament.
Elizabeth Davis paced Rosepine with 13 points, while Welborn finished with 12 points. Kacey Brister chipped in with eight points for the Lady Eagles, who face both Pitkin and Merryville on Saturday at the event.
Rosepine takes on Pitkin at 11:30 a.m. before facing Merryville at 4 p.m.
