After suffering three losses, the Leesville Lady Cats got a much-needed win on Saturday.
Thanks to a double-double from both Tiffany Wallace and Dominique Rodriguez, the Lady Cats (1-3) knocked off the Lady Hounds of Welsh at the LaGrange Tournament, 52-40.
"I tell you, it feels pretty good," Lady Cat head coach Robert Carter said. "The girls are very excited."
The Lady Cats jumped out to a 13-9 lead and took that four-point advantage into the locker room at the intermission, 20-16.
Leesville opened it up in the second half, using a 17-13 scoring advantage in the third period to go into the final eight minutes of regulation with a 37-29 cushion.
In the fourth, Leesville pulled away thanks to a 15-11 edge, picking up the victory.
Wallace led Leesville with 22 points, 21 rebounds and four assists, while Rodriguez had 10 points and 14 boards. Elexus Featherstone added 10 points and five rebounds, while Natasha Franca pitched in eight points.
Lauren Pickle paced Welsh with 22 points.

The Leesville Lady Cats had a tough go of it in the morning session Saturday at the LaGrange Tournament, falling to the St. Louis Lady Saints, 69-26.
St. Louis opened up a 20-7 lead at the end of the first period and used a 17-10 advantage in the second quarter to take a 37-17 cushion into the halftime break.
A 22-4 run by St. Louis in the third put the game out of reach as the Lady Saints got the win.
Jasmine Smith led St. Louis with 20 points, while Jasmine Wright paced Leesville with 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
The Lady Cats return to action at 6 p.m. Monday in the Westlake Tournament against the DeRidder Lady Dragons.
