Northwestern State professor Harry Briggs' love of women's tennis has him going overboard once more.
Monday morning, the 88-year-old Briggs will go for a 2-mile swim in Cross Lake to raise money for Northwestern State's women's tennis program.
Briggs established the Lydia Briggs Tennis Scholarship at Northwestern State in honor of his late wife who was a devoted tennis aficionado. And in the last couple of years, he completed a $10,000 endowment in her name for the school's program.
Briggs, an adjunct political science professor at the NSU Fort Polk campus, has been swimming to raise money for the women's tennis team for 10 years.
