The position of mayor is up for election in each municipality as is a number of council seats.


The City of Leesville and Town of New Llano will be conducting elections on March 27 to fill the a number of seats, according to the Vernon Parish Clerk of Court.
The position of mayor is up for election in each municipality as is a number of council seats. In New Llano all five of the seats are up for election, while in Leesville, districts 1,2,3 and 4 as well as one at-large seat will need to be filled. New Llano will also elect a chief of police.
Qualifying for all of the elections is set for February 3-5. The primary is March 27, with a run-off slated for May 1, if necessary. All newly elected officials will take office July 1.
