An incident at Fort Polk Saturday morning, June 19, around 8:30 has left one person dead, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New Orleans office.


An incident at Fort Polk Saturday morning, June 19, around 8:30 has left one person dead, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New Orleans office.
A second person involved is "not deceased" and a third person, Marcus Carey, 25, a civilian from Ohio, was arrested at about 5 p.m. Carey was expected to appear in federal court in Lake Charles Monday afternoon, June 21, and charges would be filed soon.
The spokesperson could not elaborate on the condition of the second person nor on the nature of the crime.
Since the crime occurred on a government installation and involved a civilian, the FBI, as opposed to the Army's Criminal Investigation Division, has jurisdiction.
