Nearly two years after filming was originally supposed to begin on a new "Bonnie and Clyde" movie starring Hilary Duff as Bonnie Parker, the project is still up in the air.

Production company president Tonya S. Holly - who is also writer and director of "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" - told Alexandria city officials in a letter this past week that she hopes to begin filming this summer.

City Council President Roosevelt Johnson tells The Town Talk that he's concerned that production hasn't started. He said he's also concerned that Holly hasn't been opened a local office and studio for Cypress Moon Productions, which is based in Sheffield, Ala.

Plans to film in Alexandria were announced in February 2008. At the time, it was to begin filming that summer.
