The Leesville Lady Cats and the Pitkin Lady Tigers knew who they were going to face Monday night and scheduled their second-round playoff games early Tuesday morning.
The 12th-seeded Lady Cats (16-13) will be going on the road for the third straight year in the Class 4A playoffs, venturing up to West Monroe for a matchup against the fifth-seeded West Ouachita Lady Chiefs.
The game has been set for 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, with an admission price of $5 for adults and $3 for students.
The Lady Cats are coming off a 4-3 victory over the St. Michael Lady Warriors of Baton Rouge on Monday, while West Ouachita pulled away late for an 11-5 win over a feisty group from Morgan City.
As for the fourth-ranked Lady Tigers, who improved to 16-9-1 on the season with an easy 15-0 win over Bell City on Monday, they will be back at home on Thursday for a 5 p.m. matchup against 13th-ranked Grand Lake.
The Lady Hornets knocked off Castor in the opening round of the playoffs with ease, 18-3, but should have a much tougher time with the Lady Tigers.
Admission is $5 per person in Pitkin on Thursday.
Hornbeck (17-6-1) and Simpson (21-7) have also set their game times for the second round of the Class B playoffs.
The Lady Hornets will meet up with 10th-ranked Maurepas, who blitzed 23rd-ranked Fairview on Tuesday in a first-round Class B playoff game, 13-2.
And thanks to Maurepas winning, the Lady Hornets will be able to play in the comfortable surroundings of their homefield for a second game in a row, meeting up with the Lady Wolves at 11 a.m. Friday.
Simpson will also be at home in the second round of the Class B bracket at 5 p.m. Thursday, taking on Houma Christian, the No. 14 seed which blanked Weston, 6-0.
The Lady Broncos and Houma Christian have some playoff history as Simpson fell on the road in the 2009 playoffs to the Lady Warriors.
The winners of these four games will advance to the Fast Pitch 56 State Softball Tournament at Frasch Park in Sulphur next weekend.
