Simpson got a four-hitter from Jared Parker, while seniors Kyle Busby and Kyle Myers did the damage offensively as the Broncos won the District 5-B title outright on Thursday in a 6-1 victory over the Pitkin Tigers.

Earlier in the day, Hornbeck had swept a doubleheader from Evans, moving to 8-2 in the league and in need of a Simpson loss to tie for the district title. However, with Simpson's win, the Broncos are 9-1 and champions of the district.

Parker struck out 13 batters, while Myers had three hits and two runs scored. Busby was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
