Pickering head basketball coach Eddie Thomas has set the date for the annual Pickering High School Youth Basketball Camp.
The camp will begin on May 31 and run through June 2, taking place from 8-11:30 a.m. each day.
According to Thomas, this event is a teaching camp and all those who participate will be grouped by ability, not age.
“Your child will learn over 60 dribbling, passing and shooting drills that can be used for improving their basketball abilities,” Thomas said. “The workouts are tough, but fun and your child will learn about their own abilities by participating in games that test their skills while they compete against other campers.”
Awards will be given to those campers who are victorious in those games.
The cost for the camp, which is for boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade, is $30. If more than one child from the same family attends, there will be a $5 discount for the next member of the family to attend.
A concession stand will be available for the campers as they will be able to purchase snacks such as chips, sodas, powerade and candy bars.
Parents may put money into an account for concessions so that your child doesn’t have to keep up with money during their activities.
For more information, you may coach coach Thomas at 337-537-1579 or 337-535-4920.
For those wanting to participate, you must fill out the camp registration form, which is available at Pickering High School and at the front desk of the Leesville Daily Leader.
