The members of District 11, Order of Eastern Star held a homecoming reception at DeRidder Masonic Lodge No. 271 on Saturday, April 30th 2011 honoring Joy Beth Williams, Worthy Grand Matron; Pamela Gill, Associate Grand Conductress and Christel Steyerman, Grand Chaplain.


The members of District 11, Order of Eastern Star held a homecoming reception at DeRidder Masonic Lodge No. 271 on Saturday, April 30th 2011 honoring Joy Beth Williams, Worthy Grand Matron; Pamela Gill, Associate Grand Conductress and Christel Steyerman, Grand Chaplain.
Worthy Grand Matron Joy Beth Williams has been a member of the Order of Eastern star for 40 years and hails from Soapstone.
"Joy Beth is greatly respected and brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to her position," said one member.   
Associate Grand Conductress Pamela Gill is a Kansas transplant and has been active in the OES for 24 years.  She is an elected officer of the Grand Chapter and is looking forward to performing her duties in the upcoming years, she said.
Christel Steyerman has been appointed to the position of Grand Chaplain. She was initiated into the OES in Germany, and throughout her 46 years in Eastern Star has filled every station and brings a wealth of talent and integrity to her position.  
All three ladies are past matrons and have become proficient in their work.
District Deputy Grand Matron Betty Gosewehr presented each honoree with a monetary award from the five chapters in District 11. Guests traveled from all over the state to participate and wish the three ladies well.  
Under the direction of Betty Gosewehr a committee representing all five chapters in the district worked tirelessly to prepare for this special occasion.  The tables were beautifully decorated with wooden crosses hand crafted by Rick Gosewehr. The mouth watering buffet was enjoyed by more than 130 people who came from as far away as Videlia, New Orleans, Houma and Shreveport.
