A Leesville man was arrested on May 11 a female reported to police that she had been raped at a motel.


A Leesville man was arrested on May 11 a female reported to police that she had been raped at a motel.
Robin Perkins, 30, was arrested on one count of forcible rape.
According to the Leesville Police Department, officers received a complaint from the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office in reference to a female stating she had been raped at a local motel.
Officers responded to a local hotel and met with the victim, who said she had been out with friends the night before and left the area with Perkins. Officers further interviewed the victim, witnesses and Perkins, and collected evidence, and Perkins was later arrested.
His bond was set at $50,000, and he was transferred to the Vernon Parish Jail.

Leesville man arrested for endangerment of child

A Leesville man was arrested on May 8 after reportedly threatening to harm a child.
Bobby Hewitt, 28, was arrested on one count of domestic abuse battery — child endangerment.
According to the LPD, officers were dispatched to the area of North Fifth St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, who stated that she had been involved in a verbal and physical altercation with Hewitt. The victim also told police that Hewitt was threatening to harm one of the children.
It was also discovered that Hewitt had committed a battery upon the victim in the presence of the children.
Hewitt's bond was set at $10,000, and he has since posted that bond.
