The Rebel State Historic Site will be holding a Confederate Memorial Service for the Unknown Soldier who served in the Confederate Army at 10 a.m. on May 26. The Sons of Confederate Veterans' Camp 2031, Brigade 8 from Newton, Texas, will be in attendance in Confederate uniform and will present C.S.A. colors for the memorial service. At 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., there will be a presentation on ladies' period dress. The seven layers of appropriate dress for that era will be discussed and demonstrated.

There will be a rededication of the Confederate soldier's grave marker at 1 p.m. A "low tea" will be served at 2 p.m., along with a discussion of proper etiquette for the tea and games that are played during the tea. Steve Schutz and the Blanchard Jammers will provide period stringband music from 3-5 p.m.
All members of the S.C.V., the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as any other interested individuals, are invited to attend.
All participants are asked to arrive early to make appropriate preparations for the services.
