The Leesville Lions Club will be holding its annual Telethon on June 15-16 in order to raise money for the Louisiana Lions Crippled Children Camp, located in Vernon Parish.
Any Vernon Parish resident who would like to help raise money for the camp can do so by either donating an item to be auctioned at the annual telethon fundraiser, purchasing a Lifetime Membership (which is used to fund capital improvements at the camp) or by donating money directly. The Leesville Lions Club has different fundraisers throughout the year – a golf tournament, the parish fair rodeo, a pancake breakfast during Mayfest and the telethon. With the proceeds from these events and the help of Vernon Parish residents, the Leesville Lions Club "goal" is to be able to donate $50,000 to help send kids to Camp for the summer.
Donation items can be dropped off at the Vernon Parish Police Jury office, Shawson Gas or American Moving and Storage by May 31. Monetary donations can also be made at these locations.
