The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and the Narcotics Task Force has announced several recent arrests, including a group of individuals allegedly involved in transporting Methamphetamine into Vernon Parish from out-of-state locations.
Kristine Deason, 31, of Pitkin, was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy. Bradley Deason, 32, of Pitkin, was charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II narcotics and one count of criminal conspiracy. Kirk Deason, 39, of Pitkin, was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy and resisting an officer. Alton Shane Brown, 34, of DeRidder was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy. Brandon Keith Chisholm, 30, of DeRidder was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy, and Kenneth Bernie Maricle, 40, of Pitkin was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy.
The Narcotics Task Force, in conjunction with the Louisiana State Police and the Beauregard Narcotics Task Force, has been conducting an investigation into the transportation of large quantities of Methamphetamine into Vernon Parish from out-of-state locations.
A year-long investigation led to the arrest of the (five) individuals, who are believed to be involved in the narcotics operations. Agents believe that the individuals are responsible for exchanging large amounts of cash for Methamphetamine and transporting the narcotics back into Vernon Parish.
Kristine Deason was charged on July 13, Bradley Deason on July 14, Kirk Deason on July 25, and Brown, Chisholm and Maricle each on July 31.
Kristine Deason's bond was set at $25,000; Bradley Deason's bond was set at $65,000. Kirk Deason's bond was set at $25,550, and Brown's at $25,000; Chisholm's and Maricle's bonds were set at $25,000. Only Kirk Deason remains in the parish jail; each of the other five individuals have posted bond and have been released.
Additional arrests are expected in relation to this investigation.
Three arrested by Task Force in unrelated incidents
-Henry Suydam, 52, of Pitkin, was charged with one count of operation of a clandestine laboratory and criminal conspiracy. On Aug. 2, agents and deputies with the VPSO made contact with Suydam at his residence and took him into custody on active warrants. His bond was set at $20,000, and he remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.
-Travaris Antoine Tanner, 31, of Talladega, Ala., was charged with distribution of crack cocaine. On Aug. 2, VPSO deputies initiatied a routine traffic stop on Tanner due to the fact that he was in violation of state window tint laws. He was then arrested due to a separate investigation in which Tanner is alleged to have sold crack cocaine to an undercover officer. Bond was set at $10,000; he posted bond and has been released.
-Randall D. Beebe, 23, of New Llano, was charged with one count of possession of marijuana — second offense. On Aug. 3, agents with the Task Force made a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in which Beebe was operating. Beebe was found to be in possession of marijuana at the time of the traffic stop. Bond has not been set at this time, and Beebe remains in the parish jail.
