The Rosepine Eagles (2-2) went into Friday night's game looking for a win. After last weeks disappointing loss to DeRidder 45-0, the Eagles did just that beating a undefeated Lake Arthur (3-1) on the road 13-12.

LAKEARTHUR - The Rosepine Eagles (2-2) went into Friday night's game looking for a win. After last weeks disappointing loss to DeRidder 45-0, the Eagles did just that beating a undefeated Lake Arthur (3-1) on the road 13-12.

The Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard first off a one yard run by Blake Hinson followed with a Daniel Welborn kick. The Eagles drove the ball 55 yards in 16 plays controling 10:20 of the clock to take an early lead 7-0.

The Tigers answered with a 11 play 56 yard drive, trailing the Eagles by a point 7-6 off a Colby Benoit two yard run.

Lake Arthur took their first lead of the game late in the third quarter, when Benoit found paydirt from 14 yards out. Capping a 10 play 60 yard drive leading the Eagles 12-7 with 7:17 left in the third quarter.

The Tigers, taking a play from Les Miles or Sean Payton leading 12-7 with 4;00 left in the game. Coach Lavergne decided to go for first down on a fourth and short situation., from their 26 yardline.

The Eagle deffense came up with a huge stop, forcing the Tigers to turn the ball over on their own 26 yard line.

Eagle running back Noah Martin two plays later found the end zone om a 25 yard run, sutting the door on a perfect seson for Lake Arthur handing them their first loss 13-12.

The Eagles were led on offense by Blake hinson rushing for 111 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown, with martin rushing fro 96 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles will try and rmain undefeated in district 4-2A play as they will Welsh next at home at McKee Mc-Cain Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
