In preparation for this year's West Louisiana Forestry Festival and Vernon Parish Fair, crews have been busy completing numerous upgrades and projects. Here are some of those improvements:

Rodeo arena Crews are currently installing the steel structure and aluminum roof of the awning over the livestock pens at the Rodeo Arena. A 20 foot by 24 foot wash rack was also installed to be used by the rodeo arena and the livestock barn.

Upgrades The handicapped parking lot was restriped to accomodate 52 vehicles, and the electrical components in the livestock barn were upgraded.

Other assorted projects Dusk to dawn lights have been installed between the auditorium and the Shriner's building, and crews painted the outside of the old restrooms and exhibit building. A grey water line was installed in the carnival RV area, and parish crews are also expected to extend the asphalt from the concession area to the midway, an approximate 500 feet by 20 feet area.

All improvements have been, or will be, completed by the West Louisiana Forestry Festival Association Fair Board, with the help of the Vernon Parish Police Jury Building and Grounds Maintenance Crew.
