A Clayton man was arrested last week by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office for breaking into an area business and stealing a vehicle.

A Clayton man was arrested last week by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office for breaking into an area business and stealing a vehicle.
Sam Wells, Jr., 38, was charged with one count each of theft over $1,500, criminal damage to property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and simple burglary.
According to the VPSO, Wells burglarized a local car wash and detail shop and stole a vehicle and other items from inside. Officers located the vehicle in Ferriday, and Wells was arrested upon his return to Leesville.
Bond on Wells was not immediately available.

New Llano man arrested for home invasion

Roderick Walker, 21, was charged with one count each of second degree battery, home invasion and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
According to the VPSO, Walker was the second arrest in connection with a home invasion on La. 117. VPSO officials located Walker in Florida, and, with the help of the U.S. Marshal's Service, extradited Walker back to Vernon Parish.
Bond on Walker was not available at press time.
