Northwestern State University will hold its annual Fall Cheer Clinic for children in pre-K through grade 12 Oct. 6 in conjunction with the Northwestern State - Lamar University football game. Participants will cheer on the sidelines during the football game until halftime. Squads and individuals are welcome.

Northwestern State University will hold its annual Fall Cheer Clinic for children in pre-K through grade 12 Oct. 6 in conjunction with the Northwestern State - Lamar University football game. Participants will cheer on the sidelines during the football game until halftime. Squads and individuals are welcome.
Participants will be divided into age groups. Younger girls will learn basic cheers and the Demon fight song while junior high girls will learn all-girl partner stunting, cheers and the fight song. High school girls will learn all of the above and have the opportunity to learn basic guy/girl stunting. Seniors can practice stunting to prepare for college cheerleading auditions.  A medical release form is required to participate.
The clinic will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Prather Coliseum. Spots must be reserved by Monday, Oct. 1. The cost to participate is $40, which includes a t-shirt, snack and admission to the game for the participant. Participants attending as a squad will be charged $30 each if there are at least eight participants. Parents can purchase tickets at a reduced rate of $5 each if purchased at check-in for the clinic. Kick-off for the football game is 6 p.m. in Turpin Stadium.
