  • In cooperation with the Friends of Hodges Gardens, Hodges Gardens State Park will be hosting two special events this month.
    At 7 p.m. on Oct. 13, an outdoor movie, "The Lorax," will be shown at the Lakefront Stage, as the park's outdoor movie equipment has arrived. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Hodges Gardens and Kevin’s Body Shop of Florien. Concessions will be available. Regular park entrance fees apply; those with annual passes and their passengers will be admitted free.
    From 7-10 p.m. on Oct. 27, Hodges Gardens will present the Haunted Gardens, a haunted twist to the monthly Moonlight Garden Tour. Guided tours of the haunted gardens will begin at 7 p.m. Classic Halloween films will be playing on the outdoor big screen.
    Hodges Gardens State Park is located on U.S. 171 between Many and Leesville, across from Emerald Hills Golf Resort. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for seniors age 62 and over, and children under 3 are admitted free. State Park Annual Passes are available for $50 and admit the passholder, and all occupants in a private vehicle, for free. The park is open from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The gift shop is open 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily.
