CASA of West CenLA, Inc. is working on providing Christmas gifts for children who live in foster care in Vernon and Beauregard Parishes. The deadline is Monday, Dec. 3. Each child will receive one new set of clothing, and toys, from their Christmas Wish list. "We have had a great response," said Allison Kacmar, Vernon Parish Advocate Supervisor. "We are extremely grateful for the community involvement. These kids are very deserving." Kacmar said about 33 lists have been picked up, and gifts are being turned in, but there are still 22 children who need sponsors. The lists left are for are boys and girls, aged nine to 17 years old. A gift card or financial donation for CASA can also be used to purchase gifts for the children. Christmas Wish Lists are at the CASA office, located at 113 S. Third St. in downtown Leesville. Bring unwrapped gifts to one of these drop off locations in Leesville: Don's Good Neighbor Pharmacy, 100 E. Fertitta Blvd. KVVP Radio Station, 168 KVVP Dr. Merchants and Farmers Bank, Main Branch, 501 South Fifth St. Smith Jewelers, 500 South Fifth St. For more information call CASA at (337) 239-1970.
