The Leesville City Council approved a resolution appointing Natasha Wilkerson as City Clerk. Wilkerson replaces Courtney Christian, who is now serving as City Administrator. Mayor Robert Rose will sign an intergovernmental agreement with the Vernon Parish Police Jury to provide fill dirt at the Polk Theatre on Texas Street. Sam Kincade, Main Street Manager, told council members the stage area will be completed by the end of this week. An ordinance was approved that revokes the residency requirement for the Leesville Historical Commission. Several holiday festivities were mentioned at the meeting. A lighting ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at Jubilee Park. "It's a Wonderful Christmas on Main Street" will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Third Street downtown. There will be vendors, artists, artisan crafters, a DJ, and children can take a picture with Santa Claus. "A Christmas Story" will be screened at the Joseph Sisters Gallery that evening at 7 p.m. Admission is a The annual Christmas parade will be at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8.
