PICKERING -- The Pickering Lady Red Devils handed the Florien Lady Blackcats just their second loss of the season on Monday, picking up an 84-61 victory on Monday in their home opener.

The Lady Red Devils (3-1) opened up a 21-12 lead at the end of the first frame, but Florien (12-2) used a 24-20 scoring edge to get to within five at the break, 41-36. Pickering and Florien continued to battle in a close game as the Lady Red Devils took a 58-51 advantage into the final eight minutes of play. In the final frame, it was all Pickering as it used a 26-10 outburst to pull away for the victory.

Ashley McKellar and twin sister Amy McKellar led Pickering with 27 and 16 points, respectively, while senior Aaliyah Sheppard added 14 points. Briana White had 21 points to lead Florien, while A.J. Law chipped in with 12 points.

Anacoco.....76 Pitkin.......41

ANACOCO -- The Anacoco Lady Indians had little trouble with former district rival Pitkin, downing the Lady Tigers by the count of 76-41.The Lady Indians (10-4) struggled out to a sixpoint edge at the end of the first period, but a 17-4 run in the second quarter for Anacoco allowed it to open up a 30-11 advantage at the break.

From there, it was all Anacoco as the Lady Indians picked up the win.

Jenna Price paced Anacoco with 14 points, while Shelby McElveen notched 13 points. Kayli O'Toole and Tristan Harvey finished with 11points each.Tiffany Thompson led Pitkin with 15 points, while Chelsea James contributed 11 points.

Oak Hill......58 Simpson....56SIMPSON -- The Oak Hill Lady Rams rallied from a third-quarter deficit to pick up their second win of the season on Tuesday, downing the Simpson Lady Broncos,58-56.Simpson (2-10) owned a 13-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Oak Hill (2-8) outscored the Lady Broncos in the second period, 24-16, to go into the locker room witha 32-29 advantage.The Lady Broncos reclaimed the lead in the third with a 19-9 advantage, moving out to a 48-41 cushion heading into the final eight minutes.

Oak Hill, however, rallied to retake the advantage and held off a late Simpson run to get thewin.Ashley Nichols had 25 points to lead the Lady Rams, while Bailey Johnson finished with 17points.Mackenzie Kelly paced Simpson with a game-high 31 points, while Hailee Andingnotched 10 points.

Leesville......37 Southwood 64

Despite a double-double from Junior Malachi McQueen, The Leesville Lady Cats (3-2, 0-0) fell to 1-5A Southwood (5-0, 0-0) Tuesday night, 64-37.

McQueen scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, including 11 defensive rebounds. She was 6-15 shooting, but the Lady Cats struggled from the floor, shooting just 22 percent. She also had two blocks and foursteals in the loss.Senior Braile Fields finished with eight points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore Reno Brown finished with six pointsand four rebounds.The Lady Cats' next game is Dec. 4 when they travel to Rosepine to take on the 4-2A Eagles (1-1, 0-0).
