The Leesville Police Department is seeking information in reference to the whereabouts of Roy G. Ramsey, who is wanted for felony theft and simple criminal damage to property.

The Leesville Police Department is seeking information in reference to the whereabouts of Roy G. Ramsey, who is wanted for felony theft and simple criminal damage to property.

According to the LPD, Ramsey entered Wal-mart on Feb. 26 and went directly to the garden section, where two registers were unattended. He proceeded to use a tool to pry open both registers, damaging them beyond usefulness before taking all the cash from both registers. Ramsey then proceeded further by going to the automotive section, where he conducted the same process and took additional money. The LPD said that Ramsey left Wal-mart with thousands of dollars in cash, as well as causing over $12,000 in damage to the registers.

Ramsey is also wanted in connection with numerous other thefts in several jurisdictions with similar circumstances. Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is looking for Ramsey at this time.
