The neckdown project is progressing downtown in front of the Vernon Council on Aging building. New sidewalks will be built, and at the completion of the job the corner will resemble the finished corner by the Phoenix Pharmacy. Main Street Manager Sam Kincade says that approximately 4,888 bricks will be used in the project, which will include redoing sidewalks along South Third and East North streets. Kincade said that the project will cost approximately $9,000, and that the Army Corps of Engineers will be helping with the project.
