Early voting closed Saturday for the April 6 election, which involves a race for a councilman seat in the town of New Llano.
The regular election will be held Saturday, and most polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all regular polling places.
Running for a seat on the town council are Terry Speicher, Bruce Harris and Mayur "Mack" Patel. The seat became vacant after Anthony Boswell resigned in August of 2012. Speicher has filled the vacant seat after being appointed by the council in September until the election could be held.
Voters will need to bring a photo ID card to vote at all polling places. Acceptable photo IDs include a driver's license, a Louisiana Special ID card, or other generally recognized picture ID card with one's name and signature. Those who do not have a picture ID will be asked identifying questions by the poll worker and asked to sign an identification affadavit before voting.
