A Leesville woman was arrested last week after being found with several different kinds of pills and other drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.

A Leesville woman was arrested last week after being found with several different kinds of pills and other drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
Cassie E. Murray, 38, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, the sale, distribution or possession of a Legend drug, and possession of a Schedule III CDS on May 19. She was also issued a citation for failure to signal.
According to the Leesville Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kurthwood Road Extension and North Sixth Street after the driver failed to signal a turn. Murray was later found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, various pills, including Furosemide, Oxycontin, Morphine and Hydrocodone; and a large amount of money, all of which was taken into evidence.
Murray's bond was set at $15,000, and she was transferred to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.

Leesville man arrested for shoplifting

Victor Christopher Emmons, 21, was charged with theft by shoplifting and theft of goods on May 13 by the LPD.
According to police, an officer was dispatched to Wal-mart in Leesville in reference to a shoplifter. It was reported that Emmons attempted to leave the store without paying for miscellaneous merchandise. It was also reported to police that Wal-mart located video survelliance showing Emmons stealing other miscellaneous items on April 30, valued at $689. The responding the video, which showed Emmons leaving the store with the items without making an attempt to make payment.
Emmons admitted to stealing the items to the officer. He was charged with theft by shoplifting for the May 13 incident and theft of goods for the April 30 incident. His bond was set at $6,000.
