1. The big movies opening this week are “The Grey,” rated R, starring Liam Neeson; “One for the Money,” PG-13, starring Katherine Heigl; and “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” R, starring Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly.

2. Saturday is the anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, in which teacher Christa McAuliffe and six astronauts were killed. Some places will he holding informational events about the disaster, so check the newspaper or library for more information.

3. Sunday is National Puzzle Day, so why not arrange to have a game afternoon or night? You can play any kind of game that involves problem solving, and ask your friends to each bring a game so you can pick from the best.

4. You have to wait one more week for the Super Bowl, but the NFL Pro Bowl takes place Sunday at 7 p.m. EST on Fox. Get the latest news, lineup information and more at the official site, www.nfl.com/probowl.

5. If you’re not into the Pro Bowl, on Sunday night you can tune in instead to the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The SAGs will be broadcast at 8 p.m. EST on TBS and TNT. Find out more at www.sagawards.org.
