A deployment ceremony for the 546th Maintenance Company and the Second Platoon of the 488th Quartermaster Company is set for June 9 at 10 a.m. on the 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade field here.
About 200 soldiers will say goodbye to friends and family before embarking on a 12-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the 1st MEB gym.
Both units are part of the 88th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st MEB.
