The Military Affairs Committee of the Vernon Parish Chamber has extended the opportunity to purchase the "I'll be Home for Christmas" t-shirts before they run out.
The logo was designed by local Gulf War Veteran, Paula Baldwin. The design was inspired by the ideas of home and Christmas, and the circular design of a wreath provided an opportunity to connect all of the units that were deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11. The cost is $15 a piece or $20 for two, and they can be purchased at Fairway Mortgage, 104-A, and My Favorite Things, 102 E. Texas St. in Historic Downtown Leesville.
Sizes available include L,XL and XXL. Call 239-1074 or 238-0447 for more information.
Residents are encouraged to consider providing a t-shirt to a local wounded warrior.
"We believe it would be an incredible display of gratitude to present a shirt to each wounded warrior but we need your help," said organizer Cathy Sage. "You can send a personal message to be included in your gift so that your generosity is recognized – or you can do anonymously."
