The Department of Defense announced today that a Fort
Polk soldier was killed in Afghanistan on Sunday.
Sgt. Ricky D. Jones of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st
Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, died as the result of injuries suffered in an indirect fire attack in Bagram, Afghanistan. The incident remains
under investigation.
Jones, 26, was a native of Plantersville, Ala.
