A Fort Polk soldier has been charged with seven counts of armed robbery, while a second man, believed to be the getaway driver, has been charged with five counts, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Adam Charles Reece, 21, was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attempting to rob the Subway on Masonic Drive at gunpoint.
Reece was later charged with a series of armed robberies, six in all, dating back to Jan. 23 when a Vitamin World employee said he was robbed at gunpoint while making a night deposit at Capital One Bank on Masonic Drive.
Reece also allegedly hit a Circle K on Masonic Drive twice, as well as a Texaco One Stop, a Blockbuster store and another Circle K on Jackson Street.
Ryan Burnaman, 26, of Pineville, was also arrested. Police believe Burnamen picked Reece up after at least five of the robberies.
Fort Polk Public Affairs officials confirmed that Reece is an E-4 specialist who lived on base.
Officers say that when police arrested Reece, he had a toy gun under his jacket.
No one was injured in any of the robberies. Both suspects are in the Rapides Parish jail.
