ANACOCO — For the most part, when anyone plays the Anacoco Indians, they know they have to deal with seniors Brent Cosio and Hunter McCrary.

But on Friday night, several others aided the cause for the Indians.

The Indians (15-10, 3-0) got 16 points off the bench, including 11 points from Parker Davis, as they downed the Fairview Panthers in District 4-B play, 57-40.

Anacoco jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead on a 3-pointer by Austen Partridge and a driving layup by Cosio, only to see Kameron Williams and Hunter Bass respond for Fairview (16-16, 1-3) to tie it up at 5-5.

The game was tied again at 7-7, but a 7-0 run to end the first period by Anacoco proved to be huge. Cosio and McCrary each scored and Jordan Martin drilled a 3-pointer to give the Indians a 14-7 advantage entering the second quarter.

Two free throws by Williams and one from Dalt Reeves cut the Anacoco lead to four points, 14-10, but Davis and Martin each hit from deep, while Cosio scored five straight points as the Indians built a 14-point lead by the intermission, 29-15.

The second half belonged to the Indians as they built a 26-point lead at its largest en route to the easy victory.

Cosio paced the Indians with 14 points, while McCrary added 13 points. Davis finished with 11 points, while Partridge notched eight points.

Williams led all scorers, finishing with 17 points for the Panthers.

Anacoco takes to the road Tuesday for a big game against the Hicks Pirates, while the Panthers will meet up with rival Plainview on Monday.
