OAKDALE — The Rosepine Lady Eagles, after losing their season opener to Class 4A DeRidder last week, have come to life over its last four games.

After sweeping three contests over the weekend at the DeQuincy Tournament, the Lady Eagles (4-1) took to the road Monday afternoon to open District 3-2A play.

And they did so successfully, pounding out 17 hits in an easy win over the Oakdale Lady Warriors, 14-1.

The Lady Eagles will take on Rapides in its next district contest, which is set to be played at the LeCompte school.

Rosepine senior Morghan LaTour earned the win in the circle for the Lady Eagles, giving up one run on two hits with 11 strikeouts. She aided her own cause by going 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored.

Chloe Bennett had three hits and three runs scored for the Lady Eagles, while Haylee Brinlee had a pair of hits, including a double, and two runs scored.

Lauryn McMahon, Kelsey Gill, Kailee Bishop and Brittany Moses each had a pair of hits in the contest, while junior Desiree Squires collected a triple as the Lady Eagles rolled to the victory.
