Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft has announced the March 10 arrest of Isaac Grant III.

The arrest of the 43-year-old Leesville man is the result of an extensive investigation into illegal narcotics activities in the parish. The Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force has been conducting the investigation.

Along with deputies, detectives, SRT team members and the Leesville Police Department, agents with the VPNTF executed a search warrant at a residence, where Grant was taken into custody without incident.

During the course of the search, agents located 18.7 grams of crack cocaine, 10.7 ounces of powder cocaine, over five pounds of compressed marijuana, 25 dose units of ecstasy, 53.8 grams of methamphetamine and 6.4 ounces of high-grade marijuana.

Additionally, agents seized $11,602.10 in currency from within the residence, along with numerous firearms and stolen property.

Initially, Grant was charged with one count of possession of a schedule II narcotic (methamphetamine) over 28 grams and bond was set at $50,000.

But on March 13, Grant was additionally charged with one count of possession of a schedule II narcotic (cocaine) over 200 grams, one count of possession of a schedule I narcotic (marijuana) over 400 grams, one count of possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, one count of possession of a schedule II MDMA (ecstasy) with the intent to distribute, one count of a possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS (controlled dangerous substance) and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The new charges resulted in an additional bond of $375,000 to be placed on Grant, adding up to a total bond of $425,000, which was set by 30th Judicial District Court Judge Scott Westerchil.

The investigation into this case is ongoing as Grant remains in the Vernon Parish Jail. Additional arrents are expected to be made.
