ANACOCO — The Anacoco Lady Indians are returning to Sulphur.

Junior pitcher Annabelle Sellers fired a shutout, while seniors Nicole Fitzgerald and Kinsley Blakeway each had two RBIs as the fourth-seeded Lady Indians decimated the No. 13 Negreet Lady Indians on Thursday in the second round of the Class B playoffs, 7-0.

With the victory, Anacoco improved to 17-5 overall and will take on the Zwolle Lady Hawks at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at Frasch Park in Sulphur, one of four Class B quarterfinals to be played that day.

Sellers dominated in the circle for Anacoco, not surrendering a hit until the sixth inning. In the sixth, Sellers surrendered an infield single to Stacy Ballard and a double to the left field fence by Brittany Garcie during the frame, but Sellers worked her way out of the jam by fanning the final two batters of the inning.

The Lady Indians jumped out quickly in the first inning, getting a walk from Magen Runnels with one out and a single from junior Korie Kreps to give Anacoco runners at the corners.

Kreps moved to second on the ensuing pitch, but Sellers popped out to the catcher.

However, Fitzgerald followed up with a 2-run single to center to push Anacoco out to a 2-0 lead.

After a scoreless second inning, the Lady Indians added two more in the third as both Runnels and Kreps scored again. Runnels scored on a groundout by Sellers, while Kreps crossed on an error, giving Anacoco a 4-0 advantage.

The fourth inning went by without a score, but the fifth inning saw Anacoco push across two more runs as Kreps, who had reached on an error, scored along with Chloe Dowden, who was running for Sellers, on a 2-run single from Blakeway for a 6-0 edge.

Kreps drove in the final Anacoco run of the contest in the bottom of the sixth as she ripped an RBI-triple to the fence, scoring senior Allie Haymon on the play for a 7-0 cushion.

Sellers gave up no runs on two hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks in earning the win. Kreps was 3-for-4 with an RBI, a triple and three runs scored, while Fitzgerald, who was 2-for-3, and Blakeway each had two RBIs. Runnels added a hit and two runs scored.

Dani Gowen suffered the loss in the circle for Negreet, giving up six runs on six hits with two walks in five innings of work. Ali Beason struck out two batters, but gave up a run and two hits in her inning in the circle.

Ballard and Garcie were each 1-for-3 in the loss for Negreet.
