GALLERY ONE ElllEVEN, in Leesville, will hold its 8th annual national competition exhibit in September, but is already accepting submissions.

GALLERY ONE ElllEVEN, in Leesville, will hold its 8th annual national competition exhibit in September, but is already accepting submissions. 

This competition is open to all artists, 18 years and older. All submitted work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited at GALLERY ONE ElllEVEN.

The exhibit juror will be a Leesville native, Larrie King, Professor of Art at Kent State University, Ohio. He is a graduate of Northeastern State University with a BFA and an MA, both in graphic design. He also graduated from Kent State with an MFA in Communications Design. King has participated in GALLERY ONE ElllEVEN's juried exhibit in years past.

Sponsors from around the community have made contributions for exhibit awards. They are-- Claude "Buddy" Leach ($300), Barksdale Federal Credit Union ($300), Dr. Billie McRae ($300), Chris Trull ($300), and Joe and Lyn Saverino ($300).

All two- and three- dimensional media will be considered. Video/film, performance art, and or craft items will not be accepted for consideration.

Two-dimensional work cannot exceed six feet in any direction, and must come ready to hang with a hanger wire (no saw-tooth hangers). Three-dimensional work cannot exceed six feet, by three feet, by three feet or 150 pounds.

The exhibit committee reserves the right to exclude any work it deems inappropriate for the gallery mission or exhibit guidelines.

There is a $35 entry fee, which covers up to three entries. Additional entries are five dollars each. July 31 is the deadline for entries.

All work can be submitted digitally, via email, or on a CD in .jpg format, then mailed or dropped off.
