The Town of New Llano is celebrating the 100- year anniversary with a two-day festival-style celebration, featuring live music and vendors selling arts and crafts, food and drinks. The event runs Friday, June 30 - Saturday, July 1 at the park on Stanton Street. It will get started both days at 8 a.m. The celebration will will close at 6 p.m. on Friday. A fireworks display will take place on Saturday at 9 p.m. to celebrate Independence Day. Alcoholic beverages and pets are prohibited at the celebration.

The Leesville First Assembly Church is holding an Independence Day celebration called „Let Freedom Ring.“ The event will take place at 6 p.m., July 2, 1204 South 5th Street. Expect family fun, free food, games, bouncy house, and more. For more information, call 337.239.6550.

The City of DeRidder is putting on its 6th Annual Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration. It will take place on the 4th in Downtown DeRidder on Washington Ave from 7pm-9pm. There will be free burgers, hot dogs, and slices of watermelon. Those who are interested can sign up for the traditional pie eating contest. There will be 10 spots for adults and 10 spots for children, so be sure to get there on time! There are kid activities including bouncy houses. Beauregard’s Courtesy will be performing and there will be a DJ for intermission and will be playing music during the fireworks display. Firework display will start at dark.

The American Legion in DeRidder will also be celebrating the 4th of July with food and fireworks. The kitchen will have the big bbq pit out front doing burgers, hot dogs, and nachos and there will be drinks for purchase. They will also be putting on a fireworks show once it is dark.

In addition to the 4th celebrations, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3619 on HWY 27 in DeRidder will be doing a Flag Disposal Ceremony July 2nd at 10:30am. The flags around the post have been replaced with new ones and they want to have a ceremony to dispose of the old ones. They invite the community to attend to learn proper flag disposal.
