Pak-A-Pig Bar-B-Q owner, Levi Johnson, Jr. said he feels good knowing he is still carrying onward with the business that his father started in 1950. "I was raised up on that barbecue, and spent just about my whole life in the business."

Pak-A-Pig spent over 17 years operating in Leesville but has moved back to where it began, in New Llano. "I wanted my daddy's business to be on the highway, and visible," said Johson. The dine-in, take-out, or delivery restaurant has only been at its current location, at 2700 Colony Boulevard, for about a month and a half.

The restaurant, which can seat about 40 diners, offers nine different types of of smoked and barbecued meats, he said, such as chopped and sliced beef, brisket, pork, chicken, sausage, ham, ribs, and more. All of the meats are smoked and processed in-house. Plates of food come with barbecue beans and potato salad.

"The only thing better than the delicious smell that hits you right in the face when you walk in this wonderful establishment, is the food. I've never had a single bad bite from Pak-A-Pig. Best barbecue around for as long as I can remember," said Blake Morrison.

Malvilen Abbott said of Pak-A-Pig, "That is some good eating. I travel from Shreveport for this barbecue at least twice a month."

The restaurant's signature barbecue sauce can be purchased in-house by the pint or the gallon. "Daddy had one sauce he made, and I created two other sauces," said Johnson.

Johnson offers catering and delivery services, and is open 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., daily. For more information, view a menu, check out the Pak-A-Pig Bar-B-Q Facebook page, or stop by the restaurant.
