FORT POLK, La. - The Indiana National Guard's 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is at the Joint Readiness Training Center for rotation 17-08. JRTC puts Soldiers through a number of realistic, relevant and rigorous training scenarios, designed with a balance of lethal and non-lethal effects.
Because of the increase in the number of Soldiers and equipment in Fort Polk training areas, residents should be aware of increased convoy traffic between Fort Polk and Peason Ridge training areas.
Please use caution whenever traveling and encountering military convoys and equipment. The intersections of Hwy 469 and Hwy 28, Hwy 469 and Hwy 8 and Hwy 117 and Tank Trail Road will be high traffic areas as units convoy from Peason Ridge to Fort Polk.
The Nighthawks arrived July 12 and will start their return back to Indiana around August 7.
Local residents with property damages from military training activities should call Fort Polk Range Control at 337-531-5445/5239 to file a claim. Range Control will investigate the claim and compensation will be paid out if the military, through actions from training or traveling locally, are found to be at fault.
Anyone needing to address noise complaints associated with this training please call the Public Affairs Line by dialing (337) 531-1418. Callers are encouraged to leave their name and phone number. JRTC and Fort Polk Public Affairs will address concerns and respond to individual complaints.
