When summer draws to a close, students and teachers across the country prepare for another school year. This is no different for the students and faculty of the Northwestern State University (NSU) Leesville campus.

Campus Manager Martha Koury said, “Our work here never stops. We are always recruiting new students, and preparing for future semesters. We have no down time.”

Koury, an NSU alumni, has been the Campus Manager for three years, and has been a part of the NSU family for over 20 years. “I’m really excited this year because we are expecting a large enrollment,” she said.

Koury emphasized that it is not too late to register for classes at the NSU Leesville campus. The week of August 21 is when classes get started, but many students will still be registering during this time.

“It’s never too late to register,” said Koury. “A lot of students use the first week to get register and get into the classes they need. Even If you can’t get started with us right away we can get you registered for our B-term classes in October. We welcome all students to come talk to us and start the process of pursuing higher education.”

Students can register for full 16-week courses that start August 21 and run until December 1. However, there are A-Term and B-Term classes, which span eight weeks. The A-Term classes run from August 21 until October 14. B-Term classes run from October 16 to December 1.

Koury’s favorite aspect about her position at NSU is starting with students and preparing them for their future careers, she said. “Being there from day one, all the way to graduation, is a rewarding part of my job. I’d like to tell everyone that it’s never too late to start your education.”
