The Vernon Parish Police Jury intends to change the days of its committee and regular jury meetings in November, a move traditionally done to accommodate the holiday season.
Rather than hold its regular meeting on the Monday before Thanksgiving, the jury will shift it back to Monday, Nov. 13.
Accordingly, the jury’s committees meeting date and agenda-setting meeting date will be moved to Nov. 6.
Both sessions will begin at 5 p.m.
The action is on the agenda for the Monday, 5 p.m., Oct. 16 meeting.
Also expected to be taken up is setting of a three-day parish employees holiday for Christmas and for New Year’s.
The Christmas hiatus will be Dec. 25-27 — Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The New Year’s holiday will be Jan. 1-3, also Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
