Rosepine kept it close against No. 7 ranked DeRidder, but the Dragons offense and defense got rolling in the second half.

Behind 20 points from Joseph Davis, DeRidder defeated the Eagles 74-36 Monday night at DeRidder High School.

Rosepine (4-13) trailed by four at the end of the first quarter, then went into halftime down 27-23.

Josh Stephens and Parish McCray each scored eight points in the first half for the Eagles to keep them within striking distance.

In the third quarter, DeRidder outscored Rosepine 24-9 with Davis putting up seven points in the quarter.

The Dragons (17-5) shut the door in the fourth quarter, holding the Eagles to just four points while scoring 25.

DeRidder had four players in double figures: Davis (20), DiMari Gamble (14), Deirico Smith (14) and Randy Gladney (10).

Stephens led Rosepine with 14 points, and McCray added 11 points in the loss.
