Members of the Leesville community took part in a 10 a.m. police-escorted march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who would be 89 years-old-this year if he were still alive.

After the march concluded at the Martin Luther King Center, a crowd gathered to hear inspirational words from Leesville Mayor Rick Allen and some of the Council members.

Area churches' youth groups gave impressive performances as part of the program.

Lunch was provided free of charge by Deep South Catering.
