Steve and Bunny Woods have been named Duke and Duchess for the 2018 Knights of Columbus King Christopher XLIII Mardi Gras Court.

Steve and Bunny have been married for 25 years and have 4 children; Aaron, Ashley, Beth and Adam. They have 4 Granddaughters and 2 Grandsons and a 3rd Grandson on the way.

Steve was born in Leesville, LA. He is the son of the Late P.E and Carrie Woods. Steve is a Graduate of Leesville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Steve is also an Honor graduate from the SMU School of Banking in Dallas, TX. He has worked in Commercial Banking for 27 years and is currently the Center Manager at Barksdale Federal Credit Union.

Steve is very active in the community. He has been part of the Vernon Parish School Board for 12 Years, where he has been president 2 times, and a Lions Club member for 26 years; where he has been president and was also presented with the Melvin Jones Fellow. He is on the Byrd Hospital Board of Directors and the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is also, a founding member of the Wampus Cat Club.

Steve has been a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville for over 40 years where he serves on the Finance Committee, the properties Committee and the Budget Committee.

In his free time, Steve likes to Golfing, Hunting, Fishing and Landscaping. He really enjoys giving time back through community activities, but his greatest joy comes from spending time with his family especially his Grandchildren.

Bunny was born in Newark, Ohio. She is the Daughter of Joan Bauer and the Late Bob Bauer. She is a High School Graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, TX and has attended numerous State Farm Management and Product classes and Seminars. She is currently the Office Manager for Trey Coker State Farm Insurance and has been in that agency for 36 Years.

Bunny has been a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville for over 26 years. She has served on the Youth Pastor and Pastor search committees several times and is currently on the Children’s Committee. She has taught Acteens, GA’s, and Team Kids and is currently working with the Awanas Program. Bunny enjoys giving back to the community and is a founding member of the Jaycees. She is a member of the Lions Club and the Pink Flamingos Social Club.

Bunny in her free time enjoys walking, swimming, reading and traveling. She is also enjoying the “Empty Nest” with Steve and spending more time together. But her biggest joy comes from spending time with family, especially her Grandchildren as she watches them grow and watching them in all their activities.
