The Beauregard Parish Chamber of Commerce honored Fort Polk’s new commander on Tuesday evening with a special dinner event at the country club in DeRidder.
Brigadier General Patrick D. Frank was accompanied to the dinner by his wife Jennifer who is an accomplished attorney. She has worked at several top firms across the country and now works for the military.
“We feel so welcomed by Beauregard Parish and the City of DeRidder,” said Frank.
Faith leaders, business owners, police among others came to usher Frank to the community.
To begin the event, newly elected Mayor Misty Clanton welcomed Frank and Jennifer.
Each person in attendance had the chance to introduce him- or herself and personally welcome Frank to the community.
Frank is a decorated officer who has received many different awards throughout his career including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Ranger Tab, Air Assault and Airborne Wings, and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge.
Frank has participated in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, Operation Iraqi Freedom I and V, Operation Enduring Freedom XII-XIII and XVII, and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
Frank graduated from St. Bonaventure University and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, a Master in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, a Master in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Master in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
