BASEBALL

Hornbeck 5, Anacoco 2

Trailing 2-0 late, Hornbeck scored four in the sixth and one in the fifth defeat Anancoco 5-2.

Kyle Hopkins hit a three-run home run in the top of the sixth to go up 3-2, and Caleb Britt singled to right field to score Caden Fox.

Hunter Rabalais went six innings on the mound for Anacoco, striking out nine and allowing two earned runs. He also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Rosepine 13, Pickering 3, 5 innings

Pickering took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Rosepine answered with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Rosepine added four more in the second inning and scored five in the third inning to go up 13-2.

The Red Devils scored one run in the top of the fifth inning, but it was not enough as Rosepine took the 13-3 win.

Pickering recorded two hits, one by Zane Parrish and one by Connor Donaldson.

Andrew Perkins went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, and Ty Perrill went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Ethan Miller and Hunter Harriman each drove in two runs for Rosepine.

SOFTBALL

Rosepine 9, DeQuincy 1

Both teams went scoreless in the first four innings, but Rosepine racked up runs in the final innings to win 9-1.

The Lady Eagles went up 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning and scored five in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.

Rosepine hit two home runs in the sixth inning, a three-run shot by Haylee Brinlee and a two-run homer by Desiree Squires.

Brinlee went 1-for-4 with four RBIs, and Squires went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Kelsey Gill and Jenna Marler each recorded two hits tor the Lady Eagles in the win.

Chloe Bennet pitched all seven innings, giving up four hits and striking out eight.
