The Leesville Fire Department contacted the Office of the State Fire Marshal around 1:45 a.m. to assist in determining the origin and cause of a vehicle fire in the 100 block of George Avenue in Leesville.

Firefighters told investigators when they responded to the fire call, they discovered an object burning in the fuel door of a vehicle parked at the home.

They were able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Nix set the fire following an argument over Marvin wanting his brother to drive him to their mother’s house. In an interview, Nix confessed to starting the fire and was placed under arrest.
