Following an accident using city equipment, a Leesville resident is suing the City of Leesville.
Norman Grant Beason is suing the city for damages after being rear ended by Eric Jayson Baker in a city fire truck.
Beason claims his injuries suffered from the crash exceed $50,000 and requests a trial. Beason also says his 2016 Honda Civic was totaled following the accident.
On June 28, 2017, Beason was driving north on South 5th Street in the right outside lane in Leesville when he was rear ended by Baker in a 2008 International 4000 fire truck.
Baker did not have the lights on and was not in an emergency situation.
Beason claims Baker was being negligent by failing to operate the vehicle in a careful and prudent manner. Beason says Baker failed to allow proper distance between vehicles and failed to see what reasonably should have been seen, amongst other violations.
Beason says his damages include physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expensive.
