Animal Tales visited the Vernon Parish Library on Wednesday, July 11 as part of the Vernon Parish summer reading program.

Children were introduced to several exotic animals from across the world during Animal Tales’ visit.

Kids were able to meet Selena, a four month old grey wolf and Wakanda, a Red Crested Turaco bird from Africa.

Hip Hops was also in attendance. He is an Amazon Milk Frog named so for the milky substance he excretes when under stress (luckily that was not the case Wednesday).

CoCo who is a 4-eyed opossum, Steve the Snake and Sissy and Sassy, a pair of Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches were all on show for the children to see.

The animals were presented by Naturalist Vicky Arvelo, who taught the kids several fun facts about the animals and about their natural habitats.

Animal Tales is an educational program company based out of Pensacola, Florida. Their mission is to educate children and adults alike on the natural world and the animals that live in it.
